A toddler birthday party checklist for Cape Town parents

A toddler birthday party checklist for Cape Town parents

A toddler birthday party does not need a packed programme. Start with a place to play, a few familiar faces and a plan that fits your family. If you are arranging soft play hire in Cape Town, this checklist helps you gather the details before you book — whether the party is at home or at a hired venue.

1. Start with the date, venue and little guests

Write down your preferred date, the party address, the venue access times and how many young children you expect. Include their ages when you ask for a quote. A mixed-age guest list needs thought: older children may need a separate activity rather than sharing every piece of equipment with toddlers. Ask us about equipment suitability for your group instead of choosing on appearance alone.

2. Check the actual play space

Measure the area you can use, not the whole room or garden. Leave room for adults to move around and supervise, and keep entrances and walkways clear. Take a photo of the space and ask us to confirm the footprint of your chosen package. If you are hiring a hall, check that the venue permits hired play equipment and find out when you can bring it in and remove it.

3. Choose equipment before extra decorations

Look at the full package lists and the photographs in our gallery. A ball pond, bouncy animals, rockers and slides each offer a different activity; the largest package is not automatically the best fit for your space. Once you have chosen your equipment, decide whether you also need tables and chairs. Keep those extras in the same enquiry so your quote reflects the party you are actually planning.

4. Have an indoor or covered alternative

For an outdoor party, decide in advance what you will do if the weather changes. Check whether your alternative space can accommodate the equipment, and ask us about suitable surfaces and conditions before booking. Do not assume an outdoor arrangement can move indoors without checking the space. Keep food and drinks away from the play area and arrange adult supervision throughout the party.

5. Arrange collection and return

Free self-collection and return at our Durbanville depot keeps the hire budget focused on the toys. Ask about collection and return times, loading and vehicle space before finalising your plans. If collection will not work for you, optional delivery is quoted with your booking; send the venue address so we can confirm the arrangement and total charge.

Your ready-to-send enquiry

Have these details handy: party date, venue or suburb, children's ages and numbers, preferred package, any extras, and whether you will collect or need delivery. Use our quote form to send those details, then confirm availability and the arrangements with us before treating the booking as final.
